Overview
Boulder has some of the most progressive environmental regulations in Colorado. The city falls within RAQC's Burn Wise program and additionally enforces its own stricter wood-burning and sustainability standards. Boulder's small lot sizes in established neighborhoods combined with the 25-foot recreational fire setback make open fire pits impractical in many yards. Gas fire features are far more common.
